Madeline Bernhard (The Raven, Poe) is ecstatic to be making her Theatre-Hikes debut! Recent credits include Save Ferris! (Under the Gun Theater), Romeo and Juliet, Getting Out, and Elephant's Graveyard (Loyola University Chicago). Aside from performing, Madeline recently graduated from the Loyola Quinlan School of Business with a degree in Finance. A huge thank you to the Nightfall team and to her family in Michigan!
Eden Blattner (Madeline, Poe) is so excited to be performing with Theatre Hikes! A Colorado native who graduated with a B.A. in Theatre from the University of Northern Colorado, She has performed all over from New York to Texas. Some of her favorite roles include Masha in Three Sisters and Woman in Play About the Baby. She, like Poe, enjoys writing, dark jackets, and is pretty scared of birds. Special thanks to her family and friends for their never ending support.
Andrew Buel (Roderick Usher) is making his second appearance with Theatre-Hikes, his first in 2015 as Professor Plum in Clue the Musical. He is a graduate of Eastern Illinois University and has worked at Disney World, Six Flags Great America, and is working at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. He wants to thank his family and teachers for their support, and hopes everyone enjoys this chilling play. Happy Halloween!
Emily Eisele (Lenore, Poe) is excited to make her Chicago theatre debut with Theatre-Hikes. She recently moved from Portland, Oregon, where she completed a yearlong mentorship program with Third Rail Repertory Theatre. Favorite credits include American Hero (Sheri), The Norwegians (Olive), Into The Woods (Cinderella), Edgar & Annabel (Tara), and Little Women: The Musical (Beth). Emily is also a writer and musician and enjoys hiking and traveling in her spare time.
Gary Henderson (Poe, Sante) is so excited to make his return to Theatre-Hikes in Nightfall. He last performed with the company in The Passion of Dracula as Jonathan Harker. Other Chicago and regional credits include The Hound of the Baskervilles with Idle Muse, Julius Caesar with Muse of Fire, The Boys Upstairs with Pride Films and Plays, 50 Shades of Shakespeare with (re)discover theatre, and The Madness of Edgar Allan Poe with First Folio. Most recently he understudied the role of Ned in The Nance with Pride Films and Plays, this summer. He hopes you enjoy the spooky journey!
Liz Hoffman (Costume Designer) is thrilled to be a part of Nightfall! She is an actor and free-lance costume designer with a BA in theater and in English from Loyola University Chicago. Liz was last seen onstage in person in A Piece of my Heart with A Reasonable Facsimile Theatre Co., and her costumes were last seen onstage with the Skokie JCC in Fiddler on the Roof. Liz has also worked with a number of other Chicago theater companies over the years as well as crafting custom costumes for Chicago's burlesque community.
Kerri Koczen (Female Understudy) is originally from Long Island, New York. She earned her bachelor's degree in theater from the University of New York College at Oneonta, and afterward moved to NYC where she attended The Circle In the Square Theater Conservatory program. After wandering about the South, Kerri moved to Knoxville TN, where she became a founding member of Yellow Rose Productions. This summer she moved up to Chicago to continue with Yellow Rose Productions. She is thankful to the cast and crew of Nightfall for allowing her be a part of her first production here in Chicago. Kiri Palm (Stage Manager) has been in the Chicago theatre scene since 2010. A stage manager, playwright, and actor, she holds a BA in Theatre from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Recent stage manager credits include A Thousand Times Goodnight (Unrehearsed Shakespeare Co.), WTC View, Our Leading Lady (Project 891 Theatre), and Orpheus (Filament Theatre). In her spare time she enjoys quoting Simon Pegg films and colour-coding her Sharpie collection.
Michael Rashid (Director) is honored to direct for Theatre-Hikes, having previously appeared as "Boolie" in Driving Miss Daisy. Other directing credits include Skippyjon Jones in the Cirque de Ole for Emerald City Theatre, Never the Sinner, Our Leading Lady, WTC View, and Jim and Dave('s Blood Meets Jupiter) for Project 891 Theatre, Gross Indecency: The Three Trials of Oscar Wilde and Terre Haute (Black Elephant Theatre). He is a proud alumnus of Western Michigan University (BA Performance) and West Virginia University (MFA Acting). Thanks to NWJ for making the world a little less scary.
Eldridge Shannon III (male understudy) started with Theatre-Hikes last summer in 2016, in The Jungle Book and 10 Ways To Survive The Zombie Apocalypse. Eldridge looks to close out another great season, as he understudies for Nightfall with Edgar Allan Poe. He has also acted in A Midsummer Night's Dream and The Complete History of America (abridged). Eldridge is an Evanston native and trains at Piven Theatre Workshop.
Jonathan Vaughn (Old Man) is a Chicago based actor and writer. A Jack of all trades, he has also dabbled in prop making and fight choreography. One of his life goals is to play Hamlet.
