Jennifer Allman (Akela/Raksha/Kaa) hails from Atlanta, GA and The Jungle Book marks her Chicago debut. She holds a BA in Theatre from Berry College and spent the past two years touring shows with The National Theater for Children and Prairie Fire Children's Theatre. Bradley Baker (Director) is proud to present this adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s stories. He loves working with puppets and music and is so happy this play gives him an opportunity to work with both. He would like to thank the amazing cast for bringing such animal realism to the roles, Mel and Matt for creating such great costumes and puppets for our show and you, the audience, for supporting live theatre. Melissa Bochat (Creature Creator) received her MFA from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in costume production. For the past ten seasons she has worked at the Chicago Shakespeare Theater as the Costume Crafts Supervisor. During her off time she spends time with her husband, three year old son and two dogs.
William Goff (Baloo/Monkey King) is excited to be a part of Theater-Hikes' production of The Jungle Book. He has recently wrapped work as an understudy at Profiles Theater production of Jerusalem and Redtwist Theater's production of Incident at Vichy. William has been in Cornservatory's Deathtoll, New Millenium Theater's Silent Night of the Living Dead, Open Door Repretory's production of No Witness, and was a performer/firebreather for Redmoon Theater. Lilien Harvey (Stage Manager) is in her Second year working for Theater-Hikes. She is a freelance makeup artist from Evanston IL who specializes in film, TV, and theatrical makeup.
Eric Kummer (Percussion/Djembe) is a freelance Chicago drummer. He has studied music from around the world and finds inspiration from all different cultures. Currently he is a part of a Chicago-based Brazilian group and also performs around the Midwest with a roots rock reggae group. When he is not performing he gives private drum lessons to students of all ages.
Felix Mayes (Bagheera/Father Wolf) is so excited to have worked with this cast of wild animals in his first Theatre-Hikes production. Felix has had the opportunity to perform on stages from NJPAC to the Lincoln Center to Dvorák Hall in Prague, as a singer, actor, and dancer. Some of his credits include: Angel (Rent), Edgar (Bat Boy), Juliet (Romeo and Juliet), Franklin Shepard (Merrily We Roll Along), and The Mummy (Ghost Sonata). He has participated in the Philly Fringe Festival and Irene Ryan Acting Festival, as well as the American College Dance Festival. Felix is a graduate a Muhlenberg College.
Matthew Powell (Co-Director/Choreographer/Costume Designer)has worked on numerous productions with Theatre-Hikes over the past several years. You may recognize his prop/puppet work from Jackie, The Hobbit, Wizard of Oz, Around the World…, Hound of the Baskervilles, Wind in the Willows (director) and many many more. He is happy to be a part of one of his favorite stories of all time.
Elizabeth Rudacille (Tabaqui/Monkey 1/Raan) is thrilled to join Theatre-Hikes for this wildly fun production. She currently attends Columbia College Chicago for her BFA in Acting with a minor in American Sign Language and plans to make her home here in Chicago. She would like to thank her parents for supporting her throughout everything despite their original intention for her to become a doctor. She also wishes to thank the insanely talented cast and crew of this show for welcoming her with open arms (paws?) and being the best pack around. Enjoy the show!
Eldridge Shannon III (Mowgli) was born and raised in Evanston, IL. He started his training in West LA in 6th grade, and fell in love with the art instantly. This is his first performance with Theatre-Hikes and he is excited to work with such a talented cast and crew!
Timothy Sullivan (Shere Khan) Timothy Sullivan (Shere Khan) is excited to be working with Theater-Hikes for the first time. Recent credits include Arnold Crouch in Not Now, Darling!(Brightside Theatre), Sir Robin in Spamalot(Metropolis), Duke(u/s) in Two Gentlemen of Verona(Oak Park Festival Theatre), Kahless Past in A Klingon Christmas Carol(Commedia Beauregard), Timothy Sullivan in Route 66(Metropolis), Joe Kennedy, Sr in Kennedy(Proscenium Productions). Regional: King Arthur in Camelot, Andrew Aguecheek in Twelfth Night (Oxford Shakespeare), Chip in The 25th Annual Putnum County Spelling Bee (Red Barn).
